Located in a vibrant South Edmonton neighbourhood, this modern infill home underwent a complete kitchen transformation to better reflect the homeowners' lifestyle, design preferences, and functional needs.
While the original space featured contemporary architecture with exposed I-beams and polished concrete floors, the kitchen itself fell short. An oversized island disrupted workflow, the high-gloss cabinetry was impractical for daily living, and low-quality materials were already showing signs of wear and delamination. Combined with harsh yellow tones, the space lacked the warmth and personality the homeowners desired.
The vision was to create a welcoming, highly functional kitchen with durable, low-maintenance finishes and improved storage solutions. Custom slim shaker walnut cabinetry from Selenium interiors was paired with self-healing, fingerprint-resistant matte black cabinets, creating a sophisticated balance of warmth and contrast. Cambria quartz countertops provide lasting durability, while brick tile accents complement the home's industrial architecture. A vibrant chicklet tile backsplash adds a playful pop of colour, reflecting the homeowners' love of art and creativity.
The result is a bold, modern kitchen that seamlessly blends functionality, durability, and personal expression within this South Edmonton infill home.
