Located on the shores of Lac Ste. Anne, Alberta, this hand-built cabin was ready for a new chapter. The new owners wanted to modernize both the interior and exterior while preserving the rustic charm that made the property so special. The renovation included a new woodworking shop, an expanded rear deck, a redesigned kitchen and bathroom, and updated flooring throughout.

Inside, the cabin felt dark and dated, with deep-toned log walls, checkerboard OSB flooring, and a kitchen that lacked both function and storage. The design goal was to blend modern farmhouse style with the warmth and character of the original log structure, creating a space that felt fresh, inviting, and connected to its natural surroundings.

The new kitchen features custom lacquered cabinetry in Benjamin Moore Urban Nature and Dove Wing, paired with a custom alder wood island and matching range hood. custom curated concrete countertops, luxury vinyl plank flooring, a classic subway tile backsplash, and warm golden-bronze fixtures complete the design. On the exterior, materials were carefully selected to complement the surrounding landscape, resulting in a timeless cabin retreat that balances modern comfort with rustic Alberta charm
